Hello, chelsea softball alumni!

A letter from Coach Jeff Connelly -
Community, teamwork, effort, attitude, encouragement, hard work, steady focus, foundation and tradition are all guiding principles of our great Bulldog Nation. Whether you graduated in 1974 or 2021, we are all connected via our strong Chelsea roots. We are forever an important part of the fabric of our community, schools and teams.
My name is Jeff Connelly, myself and John Daniels are the Varsity Softball Coaches at Chelsea High School. It is our honor to coach and guide our committed athletes to create their unique team story that will live on forever in Chelsea Softball history. Over the last 20+ years, I have had the privilege of being associated with the Chelsea Softball program as a coach, parent and fan. During this time, I have truly come to appreciate the rich history of our program and the legacy of people that have created and paved the foundation and success of this program. ALL OF YOU. Since the Softball program's inception back in 1974, it remains the most successful program at Chelsea High School and is still considered one of the top programs in the State.
The legacy and history of our high school and youth sports, has put Chelsea on the map for athletic excellence. With our growth, comes the need to expand. As part of our commitment to elevate high school and youth sports, including our Softball program, we have created a team of community members who are committing their time and resources towards funding and building a new indoor athletic complex for all of our field sports. This facility will support year-round training for softball, baseball, football, soccer, field hockey and lacrosse. Availability to our youth community and travel programs will also be a key focus of this facility. This project is to be fully funded through private donations. Our committee members have received funding commitments totaling $1.7 million dollars, on a goal of $2 million dollars. This facility is being built on the foundation of tradition and community commitment. With our Softball programs’ strong history of tradition and excellence, it is our hope that our alumni base can play a part in continuing to pave the path for the teams that will follow in our footsteps.
Chelsea School District has donated the land and will be handling all maintenance and scheduling of use once the facility is completed. A tremendous addition for all of our outside field sports to use year round for many years to come.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: If you are interested in contributing to this project, please scroll further on this page for donation information. If you have questions or would like to learn more, the donation information provides how to contact John Daniels to discuss this project further. Also, we would love to update all of our alumni data! Thank you for your support and for being such an important piece of our story and history!
Sincerely,
Jeff Connelly & John Daniels
